Immigrants To Rally in East Chicago

Immigration-reform advocates will descend in Washington DC for a march and rally on Sunday. A smaller rally will take place this evening in Northwest Indiana.

Tony Barrera says he knows President Barack Obama’s attention is on healthcare.

But he says as soon as that concludes, the president’s attention needs to turn back to finding a way to legalize millions of undocumented immigrants.

Barrera heads the Coalition Committee for Immigration in East Chicago, Indiana where a rally takes place today.

BARRERA: Once he sees the mass of people there Sunday, he’ll realize that the Hispanic stuck with him three to one when he was elected.

An estimated six thousand Chicago-area residents will board buses to attend Sunday’s march in Washington.
