As Weather Cools, Big Ten Heats Up

The weather’s cooling down this weekend - just in time for Big Ten football to get rolling.

Game day kicks off with Iowa hosting Eastern Illinois. Earlier this week, Iowa coach Kirk Ferentz agreed to a five-year contract extension. That’s no surprise, since the Hawkeyes ended last season with one of the best records in the Big Ten.

Meanwhile, the University of Illinois had one of the worst. They’re in St. Louis facing out-of-conference rival Missouri in hopes of improving on last season’s three-and-nine record.

The academic matchup of the day finds Vanderbilt hosting the Northwestern Wildcats. Other games include Michigan and Connecticut, and Purdue at Notre Dame.
