Storms Wreak Havoc Around Chicago

Some Chicago suburbs are cleaning up this morning from the storms that hit the region yesterday. The National Weather Service received reports that wind gusts surpassed 60 mph throughout the region. Dave Palmeri is with the fire department in Northwest suburban Wheeling. He says the strong winds knocked down power lines, tore away at the roofs of several buildings and caused a gas leak.

PALMERI: Once we stabilized the scene we basically spread out and looked for additional damage. It appears that that particular area was the center of this micro-burst, or whatever weather event occurred.

Palmeri says crews will be looking for more damage this morning.
