Suburbs Still Cleaning Up from Storms

ComEd is still cleaning up from last night’s storms. The National Weather Service received reports of winds gusting up to 72 miles per hour around the Chicago region. Matt Levin is a spokesman for the power company. He says 47,000 customers in Northern Illinois lost power, but it’s mostly been restored.

LEVIN: As of this afternoon, we still have some pockets of outages, but we’re down to 1,519 customers without power. We expect them to be fully restored tonight.

Chicago’s northern suburbs were some of the hardest hit by the storms. Wheeling’s fire department received reports of downed power lines and damage to roofs at some local businesses.
