Daley Talks Infrastructure with Asian Investors

Mayor Richard Daley addresses the media about his recent trip to Asia (WBEZ/Tony Arnold)

Chicago Mayor Richard Daley is back from a week-long trip to Asia. He was looking for investors to fund new infrastructure projects in the city. Daley says he’s envious of projects like a high speed rail line in China.

DALEY: You have to have a high speed train from your international airport to downtown. What that would do is that will rebuild our commercial market and our hospitality industry. Just think, in seven minutes, they can get downtown. Seven minutes!

Daley wants to build a high speed rail line to link O’Hare International Airport with downtown Chicago. He says he thinks a deal will be coming for infrastructure money from Asian investors.
