Police Continue Death Investigation of NIU Student

Police officers in DeKalb are working to identify human remains found in a park near the campus of Northern Illinois University. That comes as they continue to investigate the disappearance of NIU student Antinette Keller.

Over the weekend, NIU officials put the campus dorms on lockdown, restricting the dorms to residents only. They also beefed up police patrols and extended the hours for a student chaperone service.

It’s in reaction to the death investigation of 18-year-old student Toni Keller. She hasn’t been seen or heard from since October 14th, when she told friends she was going for a walk in a park just south of campus. Police recently found human remains there along with items that appear to be similar to property Keller had with her. But police have not publicly identified the body.
