16th Annual Women's International Reading

Woman Made Gallery’s 16th annual International Open exhibit spans both Women’s History month and Poetry Month. While most WMG readings are organized around the theme of the concurrent art exhibit, this reading is an open celebration of women writers. A recent survey by VIDA, Women in Literary Arts, examined the publishing record of a number of leading literary journals and discovered that sizable gender disparities continue to be widespread throughout the industry. This year’s readers, Xanath Caraza, Kelly Davio, Marty McConnell, Simone Muench, Amy Newman and Rita Mae Reese have made their mark on this uneven playing field and bring us poetry in a variety of styles, voices and themes.
