City Council Committee Considers Uptick In Hate Crimes

On Wednesday, the Chicago Police Department told a city council committee there’s been an uptick in hate crimes. The Committee on Human Relations heard testimony from different groups that experience hate crimes, including advocates from LGBT and immigrant communities. CPD said hate crimes against religious institutions, like synagogues and mosques, increased the most.
