Cook County State’s Attorney Kim Foxx Releases Data On Felony Charges

Last year, more than 2,000 people were charged with illegal weapons possession in Chicago, by far the most common felony charge.

That’s according to new data from Cook County’s top prosecutor. The data, released yesterday, reflects the 30,000-plus felony cases brought to prosecutors in 2016. It also includes information on felony charges brought since 2011.

Cook County State’s Attorney Kim Foxx joined All Things Considered host Melba Lara this afternoon and explained why she wanted to make this information public.
