This morning the latest ranking for the world’s supercomputers came out. We’re not number one - China is. American supercomputers do rank #2, #3, #5, #7, #9 (and others) on the current November 2013 list. Why is this important? Well, Pete Beckman’s here now to tell us why. He’s co-Director of the Northwestern Argonne Institute of Science and Engineering - and he’s joining us by phone from Denver. He’s there instead of here because Denver’s where the national SC13 national supercomputing conference has been going on - and where the list was released this morning.
