Shootings are common in Chicago. So far this year, Chicago police have responded to more than 600 shooting incidents, including more than 100 gun homicides. What’s UNcommon is having a reporter there to see and record one. That happened just last week, when NPR’s David Schaper witnessed a shooting while interviewing residents in Englewood.
