KCBX announces its plans on how to deal with pet coke

As we move into the summer months, the issue of dust and pollution is always on the minds of folks living on Chicago’s far South East side. That’s because there are huge mountains of petroleum coke, or pet coke for short, stored in the area. KCBX Terminals is the firm that handles the pet coke. Residents have often criticized KCBX for not doing enough to contain the ash-like material, which can become airborne. Today, the firm made a couple of major announcements regarding how it plans to deal with pet coke in the future.
