Gary Eckstein is a Chicagoan who loves roaming around the city, photographing what he sees. Here, he takes us through a summer day from sampling “dead body” soup at a Korean Market in Chicago’s Avondale neighborhood to visiting Pilsen’s Fiesta Del Sol festival.
“The things I try to emphasize when I take photos are love of place, people and culture and my attempt to capture the genuine character of a given location,” Gary says. You can find more of his photos on Flickr.
