Free Speech and the Chicago Park District

Mildred and Rob Tong were happy to participate in a buy-a-brick fundraiser for Senn Park in the city's Edgewater neighborhood, but park district officials rejected their brick because the inscription contained a religious expression. So the Tongs took their case to federal court, arguing that the park district improperly censored their free speech and religious expression. They ultimately won the case and the right to install their brick.
