Jonathan Miller's Weekend Reviews

Two films screening this weekend take on previous eras that outlawed, punished and vilified homosexuals. One goes back before Stonewall and the Gay Liberation movement, when the notion of a gay identity was hardly formed, let alone accepted. The other examines the early'80s, as AIDS made its way into the sex and love lives of a group of gay, straight and bisexual friends. Here now to tell us what we can glean of the changing nature of gay life from these two films is Eight Forty-Eight's film critic, Jonathan Miller

Tearoom has two screenings this coming Sunday evening, at White Light Cinema. Filmmaker William Jones will attend both screenings. The Witnesses is playing at the Music Box Theatre.
