Dueling Critics: The Kid From Brooklyn

David Daniel Kaminsky, better known as Danny Kaye, was a bright and beloved star of radio, stage, screen and TV. His private life was equally multi-faceted, including a long affair with actress Eve Arden, a rumored affair with Sir Laurence Olivier, and a constant battle with what's now known as bipolar disorder.

All of this is material for a great bio, which is exactly what writers Mark Childers and Peter J. Loewy thought when they wrote The Kid from Brooklyn, now on stage at Chicago’s Mercury Theater.

Eight Forty-Eight's Dueling Critics Jonathan Abarbanel and Kelly Kleiman join us to tell us if the show has a way with Kaye. The Kid from Brooklyn runs through August 24 at the Mercury Theater in Chicago.
