Life in a band can be a lot like a family situation. Endless days on the road, sharing quarters in a cramped van or tour bus, and trying to craft music on the fly can produce all kinds of interesting dynamics—some caring, some dysfunctional. Music critic Althea Legaspi sat down with the Chicago band Sybris one evening to discuss their particular kinship, which apparently helped foster the material on its recently released Into the Trees.
