Vice Presidential Candidate and Governor of Alaska Sarah Palin is expected to speak tonight at the Republican National Convention. People are debating whether this choice has hurt or helped McCain's chances in November. But in a Democratic stronghold like Illinois, what's the strategy for local Republicans? And, what effect has the nomination of a woman to the republican ticket meant for Republican women?

To help answer those questions we contacted Kathy Thomas, president of the Chicago Republican Women’s Network and also Chair of Cook County Women for McCain. She says she's excited about McCain's VP pick.
