Remembering Red Grange

He was known as the “Wheaton Ice Man” and “The Galloping Ghost” and ESPN recently named him the greatest college football player of all time. At his peak in the 1920s, Red Grange was one of the most famous sports figures in America. A star at Wheaton High School, the University of Illinois and later, with the Chicago Bears, Grange even performed in a few Hollywood films before his career took a turn for the worse.

Gary Andrew Poole wrote a new biography called The Galloping Ghost. He tells Eight Forty-Eight's Dan Bindert that Grange was a break from the past.
