Tim and Tom Remember Comic Run

Tim and Tom Remember Comic Run

Being a successful comedy duo is extremely tough. It's not just about jokes, and it's not just about timing. It's like finding a perfect dance partner. Tim Reid and Tom Dreesen had that rhythm as a comedy duo in the late 1960's and early 70's. Reid, who is black, and Dreesen, who is white, used laughs to bust up stereotypes and open up the American dialogue.

The new book, Tim & Tom: An American Comedy in Black and White documents their ground-breaking collaboration. And as Reid says, it all went down during one of the country's most difficult periods just five years after the civil rights act was passed.

Tim Reid and Tom Dreesen will be at the Barnes and Noble in Naperville at 2:30 this Saturday.
