Out and Proud in Chicago

We move now to a film chronicling a very different history – the lives of gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender Chicagoans. The new documentary Out and Proud in Chicago explores local efforts to combat the misunderstanding and ostracism of our city's LGBT community.

Eight Forty-Eight's Shawn Campbell recently talked with the film's co-producers, Daniel Andries and Alexandra Silets. Andries says the film provides great insight into early gay Chicagoans.

The documentary is screening at the Chicago History Museum this Sunday.
