Film Talk: Stolen Art and Classic Japanese Horror

From the ‘Art of the Steal’

A collection of art valued at anywhere from billions of dollars to priceless is the subject of the new documentary, The Art of the Steal. The film chronicles the fate of the Barnes collection, housed just outside Philadelphia. Before he died in 1951, Dr. Albert Barnes tried to ensure the future of his modern art. But time and tide, not to mention politics and greed, have dissolved his efforts, leaving the collection under the control of the cultural elite he despised. TimeOut Chicago's own masked bandit and film editor, Hank Sartin has these reviews.
