Writer Ellen Blum Barish contemplates impermanence and the true meaning of Sukkot

Celebrations of the High Holidays of Rosh Hashanah and Yom Kippur ended for the year but the Jewish season of rejoicing continued Wednesday with the festival known as Sukkot.

Chicago writer Ellen Blum Barish was thinking about the places where her life and the deeper meanings of the holiday intersect--she shared her thoughts with Eight Forty-Eight.
