River rats swim onto Chicago menus

Nutria are also known as river rats. They live in the Chicagoland area, and they taste a little like chicken.

Eight Forty-Eight has talked about food and hunting before. But when WBEZ's food blogger Louisa Chu joined the show Tuesday, the conversation was not about bagging a deer, rabbit or even a raccoon. Heard anything about nutria? Never heard of said creatures? Chu recently posted about the river rats and joined Eight Forty-Eight to dish about them.
