Annual tribute reflects on the life of Jeff Buckley

In 1994, Jeff Buckley played one of his first Chicago shows at Uncommon Ground in the Wrigleyville neighborhood. His performance was dubbed "Best Concert of the Year" by music critic Greg Kot. One year after Buckley’s untimely death in 1997, Uncommon Ground owner Mike Cameron inaugurated what has now become a must attend event: The Jeff Buckley Tribute Concert. Over the past 15 years, artists from around the globe have participated and the event has received a warm embrace from the Buckley family. Three of this year's artists stop by Morning Shift to perform interpretations of Buckley material and songs Buckley covered. Photo: Flickr/chiranne
