One of JFK’s inner circle remembers the president

For all of the women in John F. Kennedy’s life, his inner circle was almost exclusively male. Journalist Laura Knebel was a notable exception. She got to know him during his days in the senate when she covered him for Look Magazine. The Chicago-born, University of Chicago graduate wrote a book about JFK called A Very Special President in 1965 and she passed away in 1982. We hear a conversation with her about the president's inner circle. It's an excerpt from the hour-long documentary We Knew JFK: Unheard Stories from the Kennedy Archives which airs at 10 a.m. on WBEZ. (Photo: Flickr/U.S. Embassy New Delhi)
