Marking 10 years of the Midwest Independent Film Festival with a film set in Chicago

The Midwest Independent Film Festival has been around for 10 years now; showcasing the work of talented filmmakers from across the region. Every first Tuesday of the month the Festival screens a film at Chicago’s Landmark Cinema. This month it’s the film “Animals.” Shot entirely in Chicago the film tells the story of a young couple that exist somewhere between homelessness and the fantasy life they imagine for themselves. “Animals” received the Jury Award at this year’s SXSW. We talk with the film’s director as well as the head of the Festival. (Photo: Flickr/Mr Theklan)
