The Midwest Independent Film Festival has been around for 10 years now; showcasing the work of talented filmmakers from across the region. Every first Tuesday of the month the Festival screens a film at Chicago’s Landmark Cinema. This month it’s the film “Animals.” Shot entirely in Chicago the film tells the story of a young couple that exist somewhere between homelessness and the fantasy life they imagine for themselves. “Animals” received the Jury Award at this year’s SXSW.
