Neighborhood groups wants transparency on street fest dollars

Summer means street festival season-corn on the cob, cold beer and live bands. It also means street closures, trash on the sidewalks and no parking. Neighborhood Chambers of Commerce host and organize the fests, and some neighborhood groups are calling for more transparency on the finances behind this. Steve Jensen of the Bucktown Community Association is leading a coalition of five groups that want to know where suggested donations at the entrance go. We talk with Jensen about what the group is asking and West Town Chamber of Commerce Executive Director Kara Hughes Salgado details the process of getting a street fest organized and where the money goes.
