Chicago Fire continue their struggles at the bottom of MLS

With 11 games to go in the Major League Soccer season, the Chicago Fire sit dead last in the Eastern Conference. They’ve got 23 points from 23 games and although they’re only 6 points away from a playoff spot, they’d have to leapfrog 4 teams. And as they say in England, that's “not bloody likely.” Chicago has a great history with the sport, and with huge populations of rabid footy fans from Eastern Europe, Mexico, and Africa to draw from, Toyota Park should be bursting with happy fans for every game. What’s happened to this once mighty franchise? We get some insight from Guillermo Rivera. He writes the Chicago Fire Confidential Blog and co-hosts a podcast of the same name. (Flickr/ Ryan Byrne)
