Simple jeans, a t-shirt or hoodie and some sneakers can appear to be a harmless outfit...unless you’re a black man in America. That’s according to the recent article “Black Armor” on Mashable.com. Guys of all races wear this stuff, but many African American men look to recent, deadly events and say they need to ditch them for a more business casual look to up their chances of survival. Is this going too far? Joining us to discuss is Chicago-based attorney Erik Wilson who refuses to “dress a particular way to make other people feel comfortable” around him for “some perceived level of protection” and Sheldon Smith, founder of the Dovetail Project, an organization for young Black fathers.
