More than 160 staffers who were barred from working at Chicago Public Schools were found to have been working at CPS charter and contract schools, according to the Office of the Inspector General of the Board of Education.

Though some staffers received “Do Not Hire” designations for minor infractions, others were banned for sexual abuse and harassment, physical abuse, and fraud, and went on to work—some as teachers—in other Chicago schools.

Morning Shift talks to Inspector General Nicholas Schuler about what he found when he looked into the issue, how the oversight happened, and what’s being done about it.
