Lack Of Public University Funding Puts Midwest Economy At Risk

University research is the anchor of introducing technology to the modern world. Every college freshman has the potential to create the next innovative invention or medical breakthrough.

But university research is under scrutiny due to the lack of funding for research at universities especially in the Midwest. 

Illinois, Iowa, Wisconsin, and Ohio State are being hit the hardest with these cuts. Morning Shift talks to Jon Marcus, higher education editor at The Hechinger Report to break down what these cuts will mean for our economy.
