Apple Tree Theatre folds, other mid-sizes next?

This week, Apple Tree Theater announced they would be shutting their doors. The venerable Highland Park, IL company had served the area for over 26 years. A press release cited financial reasons for the closing.

Apple Tree was considered a healthy mid-sized theater company. This news comes as theaters of all sizes brace for the dowturn in grant money and government support for the upcoming season.
