Maggie Daley, wife of Mayor Richard M. Daley, was taken to Northwestern hospital today, according to the Mayor’s office. The Sun-Times reports she was taken to the hospital because of a “adverse reaction to her cancer treatments."‚ Maggie Daley has been fighting breast cancer for years.‚ Mayor Daley canceled his appearance at a press conference at Shedd Aquarium and another appearance at Robeson High School to be with his wife. 
UPDATE (1:06pm): The Mayor’s Press Secretary Jackie Heard says Maggie Daley visited her doctor with flu-like symptoms, but did not “check-in” to the hospital. She is still at the doctor’s office at Northwestern, resting.
