Last Friday our morning magazine show Eight Forty-Eight had sound sculptor Lesley Flanigan perform live in studio. The New York-based artist was in Chicago for the Sonar Music Festival. Her technique involves sampling feedback on a variety of speakers and singing over the ensuing sounds. The result was like nothing ever heard on WBEZ before, but you really had to see it to fully appreciate what she was doing. Fortunately for you, I shot video of her performance.
