Friday Foodie Forecast: Drinks and entertaining tips

Thankgiving has put everybody in the mood to entertain. This week, enjoy a variety of culinary events, all of which put a focus on wine and spirits. So whether you plan to head to the Museum of Contemporary Art to drink and hear entertaining tips from chefs at Food & Wine’s Entertaining Showcase or pop open Georges Duboeuf’s latest Beaujolais for a midnight release party, remember that entertaining this season can always use a little booze.

Wine Tasting at D.O.C. Wine Bar Lincoln Park
Learn about the wines of Washington and Oregon on Monday, November 15 from 7-9 p.m. at D.O.C. Wine Bar’s monthly wine tasting led by Sommelier Greg Sorrell. Food & Wine’s Entertaining Showcase
Spend your Monday night learning from the best at Food & Wine’s 12th annual Entertaining Showcase on November 15 at the Museum of Contemporary Art, 220 E. Chicago Ave. Chefs from Chicago’s leading restaurants such as Spiaggia, The Publican, The Purple Pig and Boka will give entertaining tips and talk about the latest food trends. In addition, wine and spirits from around the world will be served. Advance tickets are $110 and can be purchased at foodandwine.com/chicago, and tickets are available for $125 at the door. Beaujolais Nouveau Midnight Party
Pop open a bottle of Georges Duboeuf’s latest Beaujolais at midnight on Thursday, November 18 to celebrate the official release of this year’s Beaujolais. The party, which will feature plenty of wine as well as appetizers, starts at 10 p.m. on Wednesday, November 17 in the Vertigo Sky Lounge at the Dana Hotel, 660 N. State Street. Thanksgiving Specials at Park Grill
Celebrate Thanksgiving and the autumn season with Park Grill‘s special drinks and a la carte menu.
