The Rock Island County Clerk and a free market policy group are accusing each other of voter suppression.

Clerk Karen Finney said the Illinois Opportunity group may have engaged in a “voter suppression scheme” by not picking up filled-out vote-by-mail applications.

A representative of the group said the accusation was false and it’s Rock County officials who are seeking to suppress voters in order to help Democratic candidates.
