What’s the political significance of Chicago hosting the 2024 DNC?

Chicago beat out Atlanta and New York to host next summer’s political convention.

Democratic National Convention Chairman Jaime Harrison joined Illinois Gov. JB Pritzker and other local leaders at the Shedd Aquarium Wednesday to celebrate the news of the city’s selection. This will be the 26th time Chicago has hosted a political convention, more than any other city in the country.
