Chicagoans say goodbye to Maggie Daley
Chicago’s Old St. Patrick’s Church will be the scene Monday morning as Maggie Daley is laid to rest.
The city’s former First Lady lost her very public nine-year battle with breast cancer on Thanksgiving Day.
Maggie Daley was on the hearts and minds of hundreds of people who attended a public memorial service yesterday at the Chicago Cultural Center.
Music performed by the very children Maggie Daley loved so much filled the center.
Dignitaries like Illinois Senator Dick Durbin, Congressman Jesse Jackson Jr., and former Chicago police Superintendent Jody Weis arrived to pay their last respects.
But ordinary Chicagoans - young and old, black and white - braved the rain and wind to say good-bye to a woman who they say did so much for the city.
