Journalist Alex Kotlowitz Addresses Violence in Chicago

Many sweeping changes have come to Chicago. Most of the public housing projects have come down. Reforms to the public school system have been instituted. But one thing remains a constant – the violence. It's a disturbing feature of our city that, as he puts it, has come to beguile writer Alex Kotlowitz. For the last year and a half, he's tried to get a better understand of what it is, and what to do about it. Tomorrow, he'll be speaking as part of a conference on urban violence.
