Director Steve James talks TV debut of Life Itself

More than a year and a half ago legendary Chicago film critic Roger Ebert died after a long battle with cancer. But in his final years, when sickness had robbed him of his ability to speak, he became much more than a film critic. He became a philosopher and political writer on his personal blog. And he became a champion for the public face of disability. He also wrote his memoir called “Life Itself.” That’s also the name of a documentary by Hoop Dreams director Steve James that debuts on television on January 4th on CNN.
