After former Green Bay Packers running back Lew Carpenter passed away in 2010, his brain was donated to science. What doctors told his family soon afterwards shocked them.
Carpenter suffered from the effects of Chronic Traumatic Encephalopathy, or CTE, a degenerative disease caused by repetitive head trauma that slowly kills brain cells.
Lew’s daughter Rebecca joins us to talk about her new film “Requiem for a Running Back,” which looks at football families struggling as their loved ones suffer from the Alzheimer’s-like symptoms of CTE.
