Clinton Calls Republican Candidates ‘George W. Bush On Steroids’

Previous Next

The Democratic primary for president in Illinois has become unexpectedly tight. Former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton spent her day all over Illinois to encourage voter turnout.

The Clinton campaign has put a big emphasis on unity as both she and her husband swing through the state. At an immigration workshop in Pilsen, Clinton encouraged big voter turnout, to “send a strong message that love trumps hate.”

She also made swipes at other Republicans running for president. Speaking to a few hundred people at a union hall on the West Side, she called the GOP candidates “George W. Bush on steroids.”

Meanwhile, national polls show Vermont Senator Bernie Sanders is gaining on Clinton in Illinois. Sanders is scheduled to hold a rally in downtown Chicago late Monday night.
