Friday marks the third anniversary of the shooting death of Laquan McDonald. Activists are set to mark the day with a discussion on combating police violence against African-American men.

In the three years since 17-year-old Laquan McDonald’s death, Charles Preston says the way police continue to deal with young African-American men is troubling. Preston’s organizing a discussion Friday night on police accountability as well as spotlighting Mayor Rahm Emanuel’s handled the release of a video of the shooting.

The discussion begins at 7 p.m. at Progressive Baptist Church on the South Side.
