Four years ago, Illinois Attorney General Lisa Madigan gave the new formed Cook County Land Bank Authority $4 million from a subprime mortgage settlement. The land bank puts vacant and abandoned properties back on the market much faster than the regular process. Monday, officials cut the ribbon on the 200th rehabbed property. It’s in the Chicago Lawn neighborhood.
