Parents Demand An Elected School Board

A group of Chicago Public School parents are calling on lawmakers to approve a bill that would switch to an elected school board. It’s been an ongoing effort. The Senate approved it but with an amendment creating an independent commission to set voting districts. It’s back in the House with lawmakers unable to agree on that point.
