Among Pope Francis’ points in Laudato Si’, his second encyclical, published in 2015, is a call for action to combat climate change and environmental degradation. In a new book titled The Ten Green Commandments of Laudato Si’, Catholic priest Joshtrom Isaac Kureethadam offers commentary on Laudato Si’ from an environmental perspective. Kureethadam serves as coordinator of the Sector on Ecology and Creation for the Vatican’s Dicastery for Promoting Integral Human Development, which focuses on “issues regarding migrants, those in need, the sick, the excluded and marginalized, the imprisoned and the unemployed, as well as victims of armed conflict, natural disasters, and all forms of slavery and torture.” He joins Worldview to share some of the lessons from his 2019 book. Kureethadam is also the author of Creation in Crisis: Science, Ethics, Theology.
