When video artist and painter, Ben Whitehouse, was growing up in England, his father took the family on tours through the industrial town of Sheffield to show them the environmental damage from polluting smokestacks. Those childhood memories helped inspire him to create Only One Sky, where “citizen science meets citizen art.” The global eco-citizenship project encourages scientists, educators, and young people to act sustainably by taking photos of the sky to show climate change’s real-time effects.

Whitehouse joins Worldview to discuss the project. With him is “Sky Team” member, Daniel Horton, assistant professor of Earth & Planetary Sciences at Northwestern University and a member of Northwestern’s Climate Change Research Group.
