Weekend Passport: Silk Road Rising Theater’s ‘Wild Boar,’ A Tale Of Fake News And Censorship

Silk Road Rising’s new theatrical production, Wild Boar, starts when a controversial professor goes missing. As an editor and his student try to uncover the truth, they become voices for the voiceless.

We’re joined by David Henry Hwang, Tony award-winning playwright and adapter of Wild Boar, and Jamil Khoury, founding artistic director of Silk Road Rising, to discuss the play and media manipulation. The U.S. premiere of Wild Boar runs through Dec. 17, 2017.

Global citizen Nari Safavi will also clue us into more global events to check out this weekend.
