The Chicago Metropolitan Agency for Planning unveiled a proposal that called for the implementation of additional lanes on the region’s highways that they say would cut down on commute time – but at a cost.

The CTA has moved ahead with its “de-crowding” plan, which will add 48 bus routes, but eliminate 12 of them. The agency says the latter are duplicative or have few riders.
